So we are going to have a ladder pattern style chain with cam tensioner. So it's going to be easy to get the right fitment for your guys is wide based tires, but ladder pattern, obviously we're just going to have chains coming across like this. Isn't going to be the smoothest ride compared to some of the other chains that have cross chains right here, just because there's going to be a little dead spot right here, whenever we're going down the road. So might kind of loaf over these chains and these are relatively big links. more

Pewag Square Tire Chains With Cam Tighteners Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Adam: What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains on our 2020 Chevy Silverado.We are going to have a ladder-pattern-style chain, and it's all going to be made of a manganese nickel alloy steel, and it is going to be a case-hardened steel, so it is treated. It is going to resist against rust and corrosion, but also it is going to be wearing away relatively evenly because all of these square links are all the same size, about 5.6 millimeters. And this is going to be a little bit more aggressive chain compared to some of the more S-Class compatible low-profile chains, but we have plenty of wheel well clearance in the Silverado, so we're not going to have any issues hitting anything on the inside here, but it's definitely going to give us maximum traction compared to all the lower profile chains. The ones that'll probably be a little bit more aggressive than these is probably going to be the V-Bar style, but those are only for the really, really tough conditions that you guys may be in. But these, honestly, would probably still get you out of those tough conditions.What I really like about it is just the cam tensioners, just because we have a lot of different places to adjust, to make sure we get a nice and tight fitment. more

But we do have a low carbon steel construction, and these are a studded twist link tire chain, so what that means is, as you can see, we do have twisted links, but then these right here are the studs.This is what makes this chain probably one of the more aggressive chains that you guys can really get here at etrailer, just because of those big V-Bar links. more

Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chain on our 2020 Chevy Silverado.So these chains are going to be for your wide-based tires or even some of your dual tires. These are going to have a low-carbon construction, going to be extra hard, and they are going to wear away relatively evenly. It is going to take quite a bit, a couple of seasons, to start noticing that wear.These twist links are going to get a really good traction, but it's also going to be a little bit smoother than some of those big, chunky square links that you may see. As you can tell here, it is a ladder pattern style, so it isn't going to be as smooth as some of the less aggressive chains, but we're looking for the best grip, and these are going to give you pretty much one of the better grips of the more aggressive style chain, but we're still going to get a decent ride. So it's definitely the best of both worlds in my opinion.First thing we want to do is just lay out our chains, make sure there's no kinks in our links or anything like that. more

These are going to be a little smoother. They do form cross chains, so these is going to help it with the smooth drivability of it. Let's just say you have a ladder pattern, it's just a bunch of bars going across, this cross chain's going to help that, and also, it's going to help with starting, stopping, and turning. more

Today on our 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tensioners. Now, keep in mind the tire set we're working with today is 255/70 R17. These chains are built to give you traction through moderate to heavy snow and ice, and they're also going to hold up well to everyday use. The traditional ladder pattern is going to give you great traction through starts and stops, while the twisted links are going to be a lower profile while sitting on your tire, and give you a smoother ride, when you compare it to the standard square links.When working with a set of chains, keep in mind you are going to have some noise and some jarring while you're driving, but the twisted links are going to be much less noticeable, and cut down on that noise while we're driving. There are four of these cam tensioners around our chain, and they're there to take up the slack to give us a much tighter fit on our tire. These chains have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour, and they come in a pair of two with this nice canvas bag for easy storage.Now that we're gone over some of those features, let's show you how they install. more

The tires that we're working with today is 25570R17.These heavy duty chains are going to do a great job of giving you traction through very tough conditions when you're experiencing that very thick impact snow and ice. Because of their v-bar design, that's where you're gonna get the traction from, but also if you're gonna come in contact with pavement I'd probably steer away from using these chains. As the v-bars could tear up any pavement that you come in contact with, so I would save these for the most extreme conditions or if you're off-roading.Here we got a closer look at the v-bars that they welded onto each link. These are gonna dig into very thick snow and ice, and give you the traction you need when you need to get going. We have four of these cam tensioners around the chain, these are there so you can take out the slack in your chain and provide a snug fit. more

Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chains, part number PWH2828SC, and that's tire size 265/65/R18. These Glacier snow tire chains feature V-Bar studs, so they're going to give you superior traction on snow and ice. They also feature a ladder pattern, so they're going to be very effective for starts and stops. To start off, we're going to be putting tire chains on the rear tires of our Silverado because it is rear-wheel drive. I've gone ahead and laid out my chain. We want to make sure there's no kinks, twists, or any tangles in it. We'll also want to be sure that our hooks, the open side is facing up away from our tire, and the cams are in the open position just as you see them here. Now, let's drape it over our tire. more

Pewag All Square Mud Service Tire Chains Review - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be doing a test fit on the Pewag All Square Mud Service Snow Tire Chains, part number is PWE2439S with tire size 265/65R-18. As you can see what really sets these chains apart are the very large square 7mm length. These provide superior strength and durability and also great traction in the mud, ice or snow. They've got a nickel manganese construction that makes them very durable and rust resistant. The ladder style chain is going to offer us great starting and stopping power. It offers about 32% more traction even off-road than standard models. The tire chains are made to stay taught for us with no cams to come undone when we're backing up or navigating that rougher terrain. As you can see here at the end we've got a large lever that's going to allow us to bring our chain down and in and simply secure it with the extra length that we have here. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Glacier cable snow tire chains with tire size 265/65/R18. This is one pair. We'll have what we need for the driver side and for the passenger side. The part number on it is PW2028C. As you can see our chains are made of a low-carbon steel. They are case hardened, and we've got spring rollers wrapped around the sturdy crosswires to give us additional traction. The side cables are going to run the full length, and it's indicated on each one right hand side tire rotation. This goes on the passenger side of the vehicle. more

Now this vehicle is primarily rear wheel drive, so we will be installing the tire chains on the rear set of tires. We'll first need to lay our tire chains out to undo any kinks or tangles. This will ensure a correct fit around the tire. We'll now drape the tire chains over the tire, making sure that the hooks are facing outward so that we don't damage the outer wall of the tire. more

Well now move to the inside of the tire underneath the truck bed and connect the hook and link. more
